Who We Are
Element by Shangri-La is not a furniture store in the traditional sense. It is a direct line between the workshops and markets of India and Bali — and your home in Central Florida.
Smita Patel, our founder, has been traveling to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bali, and Jakarta for over 20 years. She builds direct relationships with the artisans who make these pieces — not buying through catalogs or middlemen, but sitting in the workshops, seeing the craft firsthand, and selecting each piece herself. Nothing arrives in our Winter Garden showroom without her approval.
Now her daughter Rena travels with her. On every sourcing trip Rena learns how to read a piece, how to negotiate with an artisan, and how to see the difference between something made quickly and something made with care. One day this business will be hers — and the tradition will continue.
Our vision has never been to be the biggest furniture store in Central Florida. It has been to be the most meaningful one. To bring home pieces that carry culture, craft, and history — and to connect the people who make them with the people who will live with them. Every carved door, every teak root table, every stone sculpture in our showroom represents a conversation between two worlds. That is what we do. That is why we do it.
Every piece we sell was hand-selected. Every piece is one of a kind. There is no factory, no catalog, no second one. When it sells, it is gone.
We are located at 12800 W. Colonial Drive in Winter Garden, Florida. We serve homeowners, interior designers, and home stagers across Windermere, Gotha, Horizon West, Dr. Phillips, Ocoee, Clermont, and the greater Orlando area.
Come in. There is nothing else like it in Central Florida.
